Who are they?
Leon Edward Panetta became the 19th Director of the Central Intelligence Agency on 13 February 2009. As Director, he leads the Agency and manages human intelligence and open source collection programs on behalf of the Intelligence Community.
Priorities:
As we can see from the history table after 9/11 the organization is trying to become more unified, coordinated and effective. Service, Integrity, and Excellence are the core values of the CIA and it is trying to preserve them.
After 9/11 the main goal of organization is to work in hand with local communities and to unite the nation in the fighting with terror and impunity. For this the concept of national security was changed: to restructure the CIA itself and new targets, such as information war and cyber were brought to the forefront after
Yet again, the CIA should retain responsibility for the direction and execution of clandestine operations, even though its high secrecy has been criticized many times as an obstacle to fruitful interagency collaboration. With regards to these allegations several perspectives (page 416) have been advanced for further development. Initially they emphasized the need for the general review of CIA counterterrorism methods. Now they include combating secrecy and complexity on the one hand, and on the other provide relevant training to the CIA agents in the field of counterterrorism .
